Is the 1999 Lincoln Navigator air suspension system the same as the 2003?

Luis asked:

I have 3 wheels working fine but the front passenger air bag leaks. Can I replace mine with one off a 1999 Navigator? Any suggestions? I have replaced the pump ad made manual switch. Has anyone done this and share experience.

things might look alike in this world, but there are things so small, like a hole or a orifice in one and not in the other… get the exact one for that year, and model…..nothing will enterchange anymore.they have it so technical nothing will work in place of another..they got us…………. .. to save head aches, and wondering if it works, just go get the one it calls for……….. really…

you wouldn’t want to go through the time and hassle of putting on a older part that is probably going to fail pretty soon anywhere. Price a new one i don”t think they cost to much its well worth not hassling with changing again.

The front airstruts are identical. I don’t rec commend the tampering with the automatic controls, but to each his own. The system should have always had a manual override, so a lot of people install one of their own.
