I DONT KNOW ABOUT THE TWO BEING CONNECTED BUT I DO KNOW THAT YOU SHOULD HAVE A BUTTON IN THE TRUCK FOR THE AIR SUSPENSION AND THAT SHOULD TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM BY PRESSING IT ….. I USE TO HAVE THE SAME CAR……

This is a lousy system - the suspension bellows crack and develop leaks. As a result, the compressor runs constantly - they do have protection but it doesn’t always help, and the compressor eventually burns out.
